Context Note Added to Joe Biden Tweet Claiming to be the ‘Most Pro-Union President in American History’

Joe Biden got fact-checked yesterday by Twitter users after claiming to be the “Most pro-union president in American history.”

The tweet from Biden came as his nominee for labor secretary, Julie Su, appeared before the Senate for a hearing where she answered questions about her qualifications.

“I make no apologies for being the most pro-union president in American history,” Biden declared in the tweet.

In the response, a note of context was added by Twitter along with a Reuters article that threw cold water on Biden’s claim.

“On December 22, 2022, President Biden signed a bill to block the railroad union from striking,” the article explained.

A number of Twitter users mocked Biden for his claim and the subsequent context note:

Conservative show host Jason Mitchell told Biden, “Well we make no apologies for saying you’re the worst president in the United States history Joe Biden.”
