Accused groper and former Sen Al Franken, who resigned in 2017 while facing sexual misconduct allegations, is apparently eyeing a comeback, despite a cancel culture insanity wave.
A little over a year after his resignation, in 2019, Franken said that he regretted the decision and wished that he had appeared before the Ethics Committee first.
Seven current or former senators who called for his resignation also said in 2019 that they regretted doing so and the late Sen Harry Reid called it “terrible” and “unfair” what happened to him.
During a recent interview, Franken explained, “I certainly loved my time in the Senate. I loved the job. I got a lot done. I was able to accomplish things I couldn’t accomplish anywhere else, I don’t think. So, yeah, it would be tempting to try to do that again.”
Despite the temptation, the former Minnesota Senator also said he didn’t know if he would run again or not.
Franken currently hosts a podcast on Spotify and he recently spoke with U.S. House Rep Jamie Raskin (D-MD).
Raskin told Franken that in regards to the Jan. 6 Select Committee, there were people “hiding under their beds” to avoid testifying.
This week on The Podcast – @RepRaskin. Here, I ask him for a progress report on the House January 6th Committee investigation.

After reportedly moving to New York City’s upper west side last year, Franken said that he would not run against Democratic Sen Kirsten Gillibrand.
Gillibrand was one of the senators who pressured him to resign amid the sexual misconduct allegations.
