U.S. Congresswoman Mayra Flores (R-TX) sounded off today after being rejected for membership by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
Flores chose to do so in a manner that mocked Jill Biden for something she had previously said when speaking in San Antonio.
“My thoughs after the rejection by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, maybe I’m not the right type of taco,” Flores jested.

In July, we reported that Biden told a mostly Latino audience that they are as “unique” as “breakfast tacos.”
“Yes, the Latino community is unique. But what I’ve heard from you again and again is that you want what all families want. Good schools. Good jobs. Safe neighborhoods.”
“You want justice and equality—the opportunity to build a better life for your families.”
“It’s not only what all families want; it’s what all families deserve. But we can’t get those things on our own.”
“Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community—as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio—is your strength.”
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is made up of 38 Democrats and it seems that they don’t want Republicans to join.
It was originally founded in 1976 as bipartisan but Republicans left the caucus to form their own Congressional Hispanic Conference in 2003.
