During a recent interview with Fox News Digital at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas, Texas, U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) signaled his support for U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) as House Speaker.
In the interview, Gaetz said that “For my money, the best person to be speaker of the House would be Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio.”
“Our base trusts him. He’s the hardest working, most talented member,” Gaetz insisted.

McCarthy last night tried his best to issue a tough statement against Attorney General Merrick Garland after the 45th President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was raided by the FBI.
“I’ve seen enough. The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization,” McCarthy declared.
McCarthy continued, “When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned.”
“Attorney General Garland, preserve your documents and clear your calendar,” McCarthy added.

Garland has yet to issue a statement following the move by the FBI, which is certainly surprising to say the least, given the magnitude of the situation.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denied today that the White House had any foreknowledge of the raid.
“No, the president was not briefed, was not aware of it, no one at the White House was given a heads up, no that did not happen,” Jean-Pierre told reporters when asked.
