Former President and candidate Donald Trump thanked Tucker Carlson after night one of at least two nights spent reporting on new January 6th footage.
Carlson claims the footage he reviewed with permission from U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) paints a different picture than the January 6th committee painted.
Many leftists say Carlson is claiming that the Capitol riot wasn’t violent or destructive, but that’s not true. Carlson simply wanted to point out the differences between a small group of destructive rioters and another group who mainly walked around the Capitol, something they should not have done but perhaps are getting punished too harshly for.
Although McCarthy seemed mildly helpful, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) disagreed with what Carlson did, without specifying why in particular.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) basically agreed with McConnell:
Here’s the story of Trump’s statement:
Yesterday, Anderson Cooper and former Capitol Officer Michael Fanone vaguely lamented Carlson’s reporting. Juanita Broaddrick also retorted:
“OMG…. Can’t wait for Tucker’s reply. Anderson Cooper is toast”
Watch:
Some don’t agree with Carlson’s reporting and many such as Chuck Schumer want Fox News to yank him off the air. Others want more footage shown however:
