US House Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez retweeted a tweet earlier from Tiffany Vasquez, who works for Giphy, a company owned by Facebook, that praised her for raising money for illegal immigrant workers on a livestream earlier tonight.
Vasquez said that “This woman gets more done in 30 minutes than most of Washington does in years.” AOC said that everyone who donated had “just done more for essential workers who are undocumented than Mitch McConnell has all year.”
Everyone who just donated $1 or more during my IG livestream just now has officially just done more for essential workers who are undocumented than Mitch McConnell has all year.

We hit over $60k for @NYSYLC tonight! Thank you! ???? https://t.co/kPHEhMyJa3
The organization that the money was raised for is called NYSYLC. They describe themselves on Twitter as the first “undocumented youth-led organization in New York” and “NY dream act leaders” who create “equal opportunities” through their Dream Team Network.
Frequent Trump critic and checkmarked Twitter user Mike P Williams, who describes himself as a social media exec, was retweeted by AOC for calling her efforts “incredible.” He said that she is “the type of person who should be running America.”
I don't care what anyone says, this woman is an absolute hero and the type of person who should be running America. One day… ????

McConnell assailed House Democrats in May for passing “Coronavirus” legislation that would have benefited illegal immigrants and looked like a “liberal wishlist.”
“Another round of checks for illegal immigrants. Can you believe it? We forgot to have the Treasury Department send money to people here illegally. My goodness, what an oversight. Thank goodness Democrats are on the case,” he said at the time.
