AOC Upset After Laura Ingraham Shares Article Critical of the Price Tag of Vanity Fair Photo Shoot

Yesterday, an article was written by Fox News reporter Vandana Rambaran that criticized New York Democratic House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wore for wearing thousands of dollars worth of outfits and jewelry for her spread in Vanity Fair magazine’s December issue while vulgarly attacking President Trump.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham in a tweet, shared the article and captioned it with the same headline used in the article, “AOC appears in Vanity Fair in outfits worth $14,000 to curse out Trump.”

The freshman Congresswoman appeared to be upset by this and retweeted Ingraham’s tweet and in a three-part tweet. She first said, “100% would do it again.”

Ocasio-Cortez added in the next part, “I don’t know if you’ve been in a photoshoot Laura, but you don’t keep the clothes.”

She concluded by saying, “The whole ‘she wore clothes in a magazine, let’s pretend they’re hers’ gimmick is the classic Republican strategy of ‘let’s willfully act stupid, and if the public doesn’t take our performative stupidity seriously then we’ll claim bias.'”

The Fox News article ultimately got many of the statistics from a Daily Mail article, which was also somewhat critical of AOC.

The Daily Mail pointed out that in one portion of the interview, she said “dressing the part has been an unexpected struggle, but it’s also a way to connect with constituents” while wearing an $800 dress and $1,450 earrings.

In the Fox News article, the Daily Mail report was referenced and it was pointed out that the progressive lawmaker from New York, whose policies often sway far to the left of more centrist Democrats, has in the past condemned politicians that she says are beholden to Wall Street, even as she was gifted a $2,850 suit from Loewe for the shoot.
