We’re going to overturn everything Trump has done to demonize immigrants. We will:
— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) November 7, 2019
✅End family separation and reunify families
✅End ICE raids
✅Put a moratorium on deportations
✅Restore and expand DACA
✅Decriminalize and demilitarize the border
Sanders’ plan lays out that on day one in office he will enact the moratorium on deportations, overturn the ‘racist Muslim ban’, Stop construction of the “racist and ineffective” border wall, and resume federal funding to sanctuary cities, all by executive order.
“Bernie believes no human being is illegal,” is written on Bernie’s plan. Unauthorized entry into the United States is a civil matter, not a criminal one, is the message. Sanders is calling for law enforcement to be decoupled from immigration matters because he believes more ‘brown and black people are stopped and arrested than white people’. He plans on getting rid of ICE and CBP and distributing their functions to other authorities. Sanders also throws his Medicare for all into the immigration plan by providing “comprehensive care to everyone in America, regardless of immigration status.” These are just some of the highlights from the plan released today.
Recently Squad Member Ayanna Presley broke with AOC and the others in ‘The Squad’ and endorsed her state’s U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren for the Democrat Nomination for the president to try and defeat Donald Trump. Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar have come out in support of Bernie Sanders for the nomination. Sanders and Warren are both polling in the double digits. The pair solidly holding the second and third positions behind the declining Joe Biden.
