Arizona GOP Drops the Hammer, Passes Resolution Calling for Ronna McDaniel to Resign as National GOP Chair

With the election coming up at the beginning of next year for the RNC chairperson, the Arizona GOP is looking for a change in leadership.

Tonight, the Arizona GOP Executive Committee unanimously passed a resolution calling for McDaniel’s resignation.

In a tweet, the party released the resolution and declared, “Tonight, the Executive Committee of the @AZGOP unanimously passed a resolution calling for @GOPChairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel’s resignation.”

Arizona GOP State Senator Wendy Rogers sounded her approval in a quote tweet, asking, “Can I please hear an ‘Amen’?!”

The move comes after a tweet yesterday where U.S. House Rep Eric Swalwell (D-CA) sarcastically offered his endorsement for McDaniel.

“I don’t know about you but I think Ronna McDaniel is doing an outstanding job running the RNC … 4 more years! 4 more years!” Swalwell insisted.

McDaniel is facing a challenge from Harmeet Dillion, who retweeted the resolution announcement from the Arizona GOP.

Mike Lindell has also announced his candidacy and former New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin had contemplated entering the race but decided not to.

  1. Why reward failure? The republican party put the useless democrat helping mcconnell back in as leader, he did more to help a politician in Alaska that votes with the democrats 2/3rds the time than with the republican party. He helps the dems in anti constitutional gun control than by his constituency. There were 2 or 3 senate candidates that needed help and he diverted funds to murky. I get calls from the party periodically, they will have a hang up this time.

  2. People used to resign from office or their job when they were visible abject failures; however, integrity is no longer an admired or sought out quality and accountability is rare. Politicians just wait out the firestorm until people get distracted by the next problem. That’s what is going to happen with McDaniel unless more Republicans raise hell. I agree with the posting by Joe. If she is leasing the RNC going forward, I’ll stop contributing.

  3. Maybe Arizona GOP should fix the crap going on in their state before making demands of others….

  4. If McDaniel was a football coach, she would have been fired mid-season. Had she been a corporate executive (or employee!), she would have been escorted out the door months and months ago.
Any Republican who endorses McDaniel is either ignorant and incompetent or, most likely, totally DNC complicit.
