At Joe Biden’s Direction, U.S. Military Shoots Down ‘High-Altitude Object’ Over Alaska

It was announced today that at Joe Biden’s direction, the U.S. Military has shot down a “high-altitude object” over Alaska.

The Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder made it clear, however, that it was “not similar in size or shape” to the Chinese spy balloon.

Additionally, Ryder noted that the object was flying at an altitude of 40k feet and “posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight.”

“U.S. Northern Command is beginning recovery operations now,” Ryder announced, adding that there is no knowledge yet of the object’s “capabilities, purpose, or origin.”

Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House John Kirby first announced the incident during today’s White House press briefing.

Kirby also didn’t have many details beyond confirming an object that was smaller than the Chinese spy balloon, “the size of a small car,” had been shot down.

When asked about it, Kirby responded, “We’re calling this an object because that’s the best description we have right now.”

“We do not know who owns it, whether it’s state-owned or corporate-owned or private-owned, we just don’t know,” Kirby explained.

Kirby stressed, “We don’t understand the full purpose, we don’t have any information that would confirm a stated purpose for this object.”
