Earlier today, CNN political reporter Dan Merica reported that Stacey Abrams would not be selected as presumptive nominee Joe Biden’s running mate on the Democrat ticket for November’s election. Not long after, it was announced that Biden had selected Kamala Harris as his running mate.
New: Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams was informed today that she is not Joe Biden’s vice presidential pick, a source familiar with the matter tells CNN.

We had reported in May at how disappointed Abrams looked when Biden invited her to appear on MSNBC with him to talk about the “fair vote” instead of announcing that he was going to pick her to be his running mate.
After hearing the announcement today, the Babylon Bee, a satirical site, roasted Abrams by releasing an article saying that she “Graciously Accepts VP Nomination.”
From the Babylon Bee:
Failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has graciously accepted Joe Biden’s offer to run as the vice-presidential candidate on his campaign.
After Biden announced his pick today, Abrams quickly gave a speech congratulating the losers and saying she was excited and ready to run a tough race for the next three months.
“Thanks so much, Joe,” she said. “I’m humbled by this victory, and I’m glad you’ve chosen me as the winner. For everyone who lost, I just want to say, it’s really hard putting yourself out there and accepting a loss with grace. And I just want to thank you for doing that and for showing that you can compete with class. You’ll definitely have a part in me and Joe’s administration.”
At publishing time, Abrams had begun giving her acceptance speech for winning the 2020 election.
One Twitter user asked if anybody had checked on Abrams after the announcement but she tweeted out that she is “thrilled” to support the Biden and Harris ticket and that she believes Harris will be the “next VP.”
Anybody check on Stacey Abrams?
