Biden Administration Pushes Out Trump Appointed Head of US Border Patrol Rodney Scott

U.S. Border Patrol Head, Rodney Scott, is being pushed out by President Biden to make way for a new appointee. Scott took the job in February of 2020. He has also been with the Border Patrol since 1992. Scott posted on social media that he received a “3R” letter, meaning that he has to relocate, retire, or resign. Scott has been critical of the Biden Administration.

Receiving a “3R” letter doesn’t necessarily mean that is why he is being told to vacate his position, but you can’t blame someone for drawing that conclusion though. However, many did expect Biden to ultimately place one of his people in that position. It’s unclear if things at the border will get even worse, better, or stay the same with whoever Biden places into that position.

This comes as Vice President Kamala Harris is now planning to visit the U.S.-Mexico Southern Border. Former President Trump plans to meet Republicans at the border with a trip he himself plans to take there. Trump claims that his going is what finally prompted Harris to go as well.

The pausing of the building of the wall at the border has increased the problem. Now it is even worse than before there was a wall because some of the preconstruction for future wall locations has made it easy for coyotes, smugglers, and others to get in.

In our view, the only fix is to finish the wall, something some red states are working on now, but it will be a lofty task indeed.

Harris has been placed by Biden as Border Czar but hasn’t fixed many of the issues with mass immigration at the southern border yet. Many don’t expect her to fix anything at all, but time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates on the Biden Administration and the situation at the border.
