Speaking at a roundtable discussion in Philadelphia, presumptive Democrat nominee for president Joe Biden claimed that “Even Dr. King’s assassination did not have the worldwide impact that George Floyd’s death did.”

Twitter users took Biden to task for the comparison with one suggesting “never compare MLK’s death to anyone else. George Floyd would tell you that if he could. Joe you have something hanging on your ear.”
A response to that suggestion agreed and said that “those two names shouldn’t even be in the same sentence. Absolutely no comparison!! Joe go back bed. But before you do, stop wearing that mask earring.”

Joe go back bed. But before you do, stop wearing that mask earring.
Biden expounded on the point, by saying comparing the invention of televisions to cell phones.
From the Hill:
“It’s just like television changed the Civil Rights movement for the better when they saw Bull Connor and his dogs ripping the clothes off of elderly black women going to church and firehoses ripping the skin off of young kids.”
“What happened to George Floyd — now you got how many people around the country, millions of cellphones. It’s changed the way everybody’s looking at this,” he continued. “Look at the millions of people marching around the world.”
