Biden Demands That ‘Companies Running Gas Stations’ Bring Down the Prices to Reflect the Cost They’re Paying For the Product

In a tweet today, Joe Biden demanded that “Companies running gas stations” bring down the prices to reflect the cost they’re paying for the product.

The stunning request from Biden comes as gas prices have continued to decline since reaching an all-time average high of $5.02 in mid-June.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of unleaded was $4.82 today.

The decline comes as Americans are using about 8.9 million barrels of gasoline a day, down from 9.11 million at the end of June 2021. 

Biden declared in the tweet, “My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.”

“Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now,” Biden demanded.

Biden had initially made the request in a speech given last week as he bemoaned that the price of oil had fallen slightly, but the price of gas had not.

It was also reported today that the Biden administration has proposed blocking all new drilling in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, but allowing some drilling in the Gulf of Mexico in a five-year development plan.
