Joe Biden along with Kamala Harris today met with members of the White House COVID reponse team and gave a short broadcasted “direct message to the American people” where he told the press that he wasn’t going to answer questions.
Despite the report given being brief, Biden struggled to read exactly how many Americans have received a COVID booster shot, with Fauci eventually rescuing him.
Biden began by insisting that “due to the steps” his administration took, Omicron hasn’t spread as quickly has it has in Europe.
“For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death if you’re unvaccinated, for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they will soon overwhelm,” Biden declared.
Biden then touted COVID booster shots and stated that “about 60 million” Americans have already had their shot.
Despite the fact that he had already given the rough number, Biden later got tripped up when reading the “total number” of boosters that have been given.
Biden was reading through some statistics and said, “57, excuse me. 570, excuse me. I don’t wanna read it, I’m not sure I got the right number… the total number of boosters”
“57 million,” Fauci interjected.
Biden then continued, “57 million boosters, one million per day” before concluding his “direct message.”
Biden: "57, excuse me. 570, excuse me. I don't wanna read it, I’m not sure I got the right number…"
