President Trump’s Attorney General, William AKA Bill Barr is laying down the law. After a litany of other actions taken already to keep law-abiding American citizens safe, Attorney General Barr is taking things one step further, sending a shock wave to liberal Mayors around the nation.
In particular, the ramification will affect Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Portland, Oregan Mayor Ted Wheeler. These three mayors have been, to put it gently, softer on crime than many others when it comes to rioting, looting, and general disarray, mostly related to Black Lives Matter and Antifa protests that have continued to haunt these iconic American cities for months.
Portland may be the worse, with nightly riots that tie up local police and weak enforcement of lawlessness. In some cases rioters are arrested and released, only to be back rioting again the next day.
It’s unclear if these are organic, or if there are more nefarious things behind them like funding from rich left-wing activists who are potentially, in part, trying to cause disastrous circumstances to encircle the upcoming presidential election as if the Covid-19 pandemic wasn’t bad enough. Some in Congress have also called on Barr to use RICO to find out the answers for sure of how well organized these things are. Meanwhile, Bill Barr just made a major move. According to The Hill:
The Justice Department announced Monday that New York City, Seattle and Portland, Ore., would be designated as jurisdictions “permitting violence and destruction of property” under President Trump‘s early-September order requiring federal agencies to submit potential funding cuts for cities “permitting anarchy.”
“We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance. It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice today will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens,” Barr has said on record.
The backlash from leftists is sure to follow, where they will either downplay the violence as ‘mostly peaceful’, or try and blame President Trump for ‘creating a racially charged atmosphere’. Nevertheless, action needed to be taken, and time will tell if Barr succeeds, but he certainly gets credit for finally making his move.
The liberal meltdown has in fact, already begun, as you can see below, where one Twitter use calls Barr’s actions, “fascism”.
