In an interview with ABC’s 7.30, an Australian current affairs program, Bill Gates downplayed his “relationship” with Jeffrey Epstein after being pressed by host Sarah Ferguson.
Gates reportedly is in the country talking about global issues such as climate change and artificial intelligence.
In a clip that was shared by Disclose.TV in a tweet, Ferguson pointed out, “One of issues that has dogged you is that of your relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.”
“Do you regret the relationship that you maintained with him against (His ex-wife) Melinda’s (Gates) advice and wishes?” Ferguson wondered.
Gates appeared taken aback by the question and told Ferguson, “Oh I’ve said that I’m, this is, you’re going way back in time” to which she pointed out that he was speaking to a “new audience.”
“I’ll say for over the hundredth time, yeah I shouldn’t have had dinners with him,” Gates then said about Epstein.
Ferguson pressed, “Epstein had a way of sexually compromising people, is that what Melinda was warning you about?”
“No, I mean it’s, no, I had dinner with him and that’s all,” Gates insisted. Ferguson continued, “And that you regret the relationship, the acquaintance?”
Gates responded, “That I had dinner with him.” Ferguson then asked if he regretted any link between Epstein and his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
“There never was any relationship of any kind,” Gates claimed.
