We reported yesterday that several business were looted overnight after a fatal shooting by a police officer in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, just outside of Minneapolis.
Rioters took to the streets again last night and ransacked more businesses in the city, including Target, Dollar Tree, and Boost Mobile.
U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) commented on the looting in a tweet last night, where she said, “Gamestop, Foot Locker, and Liquor Stores are being looted. I didn’t realize they were part of systemic racism. Justice is strange in 2021.”

I didn't realize they were part of systemic racism.
Justice is strange in 2021.
This morning, Boebert asked after seeing the crowds together in the streets, “Will ANTIFA be required to get their vaccines before riot season starts?”

It appears that the “riot season” has already started, however, and video published by Brendan Gutenschwager showed pepper balls being fired by police attempting to disperse the crowds.

Brooklyn Mayor Mike Elliott appears oblivious to the looting, however, as he tweeted out overnight twice and didn’t mention it once.
Instead, Elliott said, “We want to ensure everyone gets home safely tonight. Peaceful protesting is your right but I’m asking everyone to please go home.”

Two hours later, Elliott tweeted out two pictures of him speaking to the press with a helmet on and said, “Earlier this evening I had the opportunity to go talk to these peaceful protesters. I assured them we are working collaboratively with all involved agencies & will get to the bottom of this. Our city is calm now, thank you all who came out to peacefully protest then went home.”
One respondent suggested, “Peaceful protests don’t require helmets.”
