Brittney Griner Allies Remind the Country She Just Turned 32 Amid News that Putin not Prioritizing her Situation

Now former WNBA basketball player Brittney Griner celebrated her 32nd birthday yesterday and her allies made sure to remind the country about it.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, isn’t concerned about her or her birthday, according to one of his aides.

Yury Ushakov, a close aide to Putin, reportedly told the Russian TV program “Moscow.Kremlin.Putin,” “In this tense situation, I think that he [Biden] is thinking first and foremost about the upcoming midterm elections.”

“He keeps emphasizing the need to bring [Griner] back home … however, it’s not the main issue that we are concerned about,” Ushakov explained.

U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) expressed his concern in a tweet as he said, “Today, Brittney Griner turns 32 while wrongfully detained in Russia.”

“We won’t stop fighting for your safe return. #FreeBrittneyGriner,” Warnock insisted.

Former professional tennis player Billie Jean King declared in a tweet, “Today, Brittney Griner turns 32. She will spend her birthday in a Russian prison, where she has been unlawfully detained for 8 months.”

“Let’s continue to advocate for her release and bring her home. #WeAreBG,” King urged.

One conservative Twitter user, however, wondered, “Why hasn’t all the posts about Brittney Griner about being unlawfully detained been flagged for disinformation?”

“It simply isn’t true,” the Twitter user added.

It seems that since the Biden Administration has declared her “wrongfully detained,” that is how Twitter views it as well. Of course, the program that Ushakov spoke on is labeled “state-run” in the mainstream media.
