CA GOP House Rep Darrell Issa Calls For DOJ Investigation Into BLM’s $6M LA Mansion Purchase

Count U.S. House Rep Darrell Issa (R-CA) as one elected official who isn’t staying silent about a recent report that BLM secretly bought a $6 million mansion in Southern California.

The mansion, known as “Campus,” was reportedly purchased with cash in October 2020 and it was never disclosed to the public.

Issa declared in a tweet last night, “So many red flags raised by the $6 million purchase of an L.A. mansion by the charity of Black Lives Matter. “

“BLM hasn’t come close to explaining this. And the Biden DOJ can’t ignore it any longer,” Issa insisted.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Issa called for an investigation as he said, “The disturbing information that we are learning is more than enough to warrant an investigation from the DOJ — and doubtless not the end of all there is to know.”

“This definitely has the suggestion of misappropriation of charitable funds and an abuse of our nonprofit laws,” Issa added.

BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors attacked New York Magazine for publishing the report in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

“Yesterday’s article in New York Magazine is a despicable abuse of a platform that’s intended to provide truthful information to the public,” Cullors said at the time.

Cullors then said that she believed, “Journalism is supposed to mitigate harm and inform our communities.”

“That a reputable publication would allow a reporter, with a proven and very public bias against me and other black leaders, to write a piece filled with misinformation, innuendo and incendiary opinions, is disheartening and unacceptable,” Cullors concluded.

Cullors abruptly resigned from BLM in May 2021 amid mounting scrutiny of the group’s finances and has previously faced criticism for living an opulent lifestyle that includes millions of dollars of personal real estate purchases, Fox News noted.
