Candace Owens Accuses Progressives of ‘Erasing Women’ After Rachel Levine Named a ‘Woman of the Year’ By USA Today

U.S. assistant secretary for health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and head of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Rachel Levine, who is also the nation’s highest-ranking transgender official and was born a biological male, was recently named a “Woman of the Year” by USA Today.

That didn’t sit well with Candace Owens who appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show last night and accused progressives of “erasing women” for bestowing the honor upon Levine.

Of the award, Levine said, “I really feel that everything I’ve ever done, whether it was in academic medicine, in education, in clinical research, seeing my patients in my role in public health, in Pennsylvania and now my role nationally has all led to this moment in terms of helping the nation through this greatest public health crisis that we have faced in over a hundred years.”

Owens had a different opinion and told Carlson, “It’s so progressive, it’s actually regressive. We’re actually erasing women.”

“It’s ridiculous… the government gains more power when people are confused,” Owens explained.

Carlson pointed out that perhaps some people could be of a different ethnic heritage or skin color if Levine can be a woman.

Owens then suggested, sarcastically, that perhaps Rachel Dolezal should be owed an apology as she believed that she was black, although she was born white.

“You’re born the way that you are, but what we’re talking about Tucker, of course, is reality and the left doesn’t work in reality,” Owens insisted.

Carlson then concluded by telling Owens, “It’s too crazy, and thank you for not playing along, I appreciate it.”
