“CBS Evening News” host Norah O’Donnel disputed the claim made by former President Trump that the FBI took three of his passports during the raid at Mar-A-Lago his Florida home.
Norah tweeted:
“NEW: According to a DOJ official, the FBI is NOT in possession of former President Trump’s passports. Trump had accused the FBI of stealing his three passports during the search of his Mar-a-Lago home.”
Conferring that the FBI doesn’t possess the passports as of Sunday, she followed up the tweet with:
“We are also learning tonight that if any items not contained in the warrant were retrieved during the FBI search at Mar-a-Lago, they will be returned.”
Her follow-up slightly changed the narrative of her original tweet, but still didn’t acknowledge that the FBI took the passports.

NBC’s White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell corrected Norah’s claim, capitalizing “NOT” just as she did. Kelly tweeted:
“A Department of Justice official tells me passports belonging to former Pres. Trump are NOT in the possession of the FBI and have been returned.”

Director of Communications for Save America and for Donald Trump, Taylor Budowich shared a screenshot of an email from the FBI that acknowledges the passports belonging to President Trump were taken. The email goes on to express that they were available for pickup at 2 PM on the 15th of August.
Taylor also called out O’Donnell for her bad information questioning her reporting, tweeting:
“This is how Fake News works, folks. Biden admin actively feeds half truths & lies that the media willingly amplifies—advancing a partisan narrative to attack Trump. @NorahODonnell, did your “source” read you this email? Did you bother asking if they indeed seized the passports?”

Below is her reporting from last night, she leaves the door wide open to interpretation in her report on the passports.
Norah recently took a major pay cut to keep the same job, and rumors have come out that they have been actively searching to replace her. We reported on this earlier see below:
It seems to many that those who do not like the former president are all too happy to shape the narrative to make the former president seem that he is being dishonest in his claims about the raid. Trump has called for the release of the affidavit that gave way to the search warrant issued on his Florida home.
The DOJ has declined to release the affidavit saying it could “chill future cooperation”. With much of the information still missing, as to why exactly the raid was conducted on the former president’s residence, the pundits work at spinning the narrative to their audience.
