Legendary singer Celine Dion has been forced to postpone her world tour again after she shared that she has been diagnosed with an incurable disorder.
Dion had completed the first 52 shows on the tour before postponing after the pandemic emerged in March 2020 and was set to complete the tour in the spring of this year before rescheduling to next year after being treated for severe and persistent muscle spasms which prevented her from performing.
It seems that the spasm ultimately were something worse than initially believed as Dion announced that she has been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).
Dion noted in the video that the disorder is very rare and only “affects something like one in a million people.”
In the video, Dion told her fans, “I’m working hard with my sports medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again. But I have to admit it’s been a struggle.”
“All I know is singing. It’s what I’ve done all my life. And it’s what I love to do the most,” Dion explained.
In a tweet, Dion shared a poster that announced the dates that were rescheduled and which ones are still on track to be held.
“Celine Dion reschedules Spring 2023 shows to 2024, and cancels 8 of her summer 2023 shows.”
“It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February,” Dion said.
