After Wednesday’s game, Boston Celtics head coach, Joe Mazzulla was asked about Prince William and Princess Kate’s presence at the game. Mazzulla announced he is “only familiar with one royal family” referring to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
A reporter asked, “Did you get a chance to meet with the royal family? And if not, how was it like having them there in the building?” Mazzulla replied with a question, “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph?”
The reporter trying to contain her laughter clarified, “The Prince and Princess of Wales”. “Oh, no, I did not,” Mazzulla answered.
He then added, “I’m only familiar with one royal family. I don’t know too much about that one. Thank you.”
After a pause, he added, “But I’m glad they’re hopefully Celtic fans.” That appears to be the end of questions for the coach.

When the couple appeared on the jumbotron during the game, much of the audience booed and chanted “USA”.
So both times William and Kate appeared on the @tdgarden big screen there were cheers but also some boos.

Along with chants of “USA, USA”.
Some say it was expected at the Boston team @celtics with such strong Irish roots.
But, still, not something the Royals get very often pic.twitter.com/281rp6avWV

Boston Celtics won their game that night against the Miami Heat, it appears that the team was unaffected by the presence of William and Kate.
It was refreshing to hear the Celtics coach bring up Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in a positive way.
