Comedian Chris Rock broke his silence tonight at a live show where he said that he was “still prossessing” the assault by actor Will Smith at the Oscars.
According to the New York Post, Rock told the Boston, Massachusetts audience, “You got me all misty and sh*t” after basking in a rousing nearly two minute standing ovation as he took the stage at the Wilbur Theater to start a run of shows.
Rock, wearing a white outfit, asked the cheering crowd, “How was your weekend?”
“I don’t have a bunch of sh*t about what happened,” Rock told the crowd about the elephant in the room.
Rock explained, “I had like a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still kinda processing what happened. So at some point, I’ll talk about that sh*t.”
An audience member reportedly yelled to Rock, “Sue him Chris, sue him.”
Rock, however, said, “So I’m gonna tell some jokes. It’s nice to be out.”
It was revealed today that Smith refused to leave the Oscars when asked by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Smith is currently under investigation for violating the academy’s code of conduct and he apologized to Rock the following day after the slap.
