Chris Rock’s Netflix special was broadcasted live on Saturday, March 4th. Rock addressed the victimhood epidemic many believe plagues our society.
He then targeted Meghan Markle, addressing specifically her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Markle used the interview to complain about the way the royal family treated her and blamed it on her race.
“The biggest addiction in America is attention,” Rock announced to the crowd. “We are addicted to attention, can’t get enough attention. We used to want love, now we just want likes. Posting up pathetic pictures. ‘This is me eating sushi, like me.'”
“Easiest way to get attention, be a victim. If everybody claims to be a victim, when the real victims need help ain’t nobody gonna be there to help them,” Rock continued. “And right now we live in a world where the emergency room is filled up with m*therf*ckers with paper cuts. Everybody trying to be a victim.”
Andy Signore shared the clip of Rock addressing the victim problem in America.
“This was 1 of the REALEST parts of #ChrisRockLive “Right now we live in a world where the Emergency Room is filled up with motherf*ckers with papercuts… EVERYBODY’s trying to be a victim.” Then Chris Rock went off on Meghan Markle”
Rock then transitioned to addressing Meghan Markle, who he clearly sees as playing the victim.
“What’s this girl Meghan Markle, seemed like a nice lady, just complainin’. I was like didn’t she hit the light skin lottery? Hit the f*cking light skin lottery and still going off complaining, actin all dumb like she don’t know nothin’,” Rock started.
“Some of that sh*t she went through was not racism, it was just some in-law sh*t… She’s complaining, I’m like what she talking ’bout?”
Mocking Markle Rock shared, “Oprah they’re so racist, they wanted to know how brown the baby was going to be. They’re so racist they wanted to know how brown the baby was going to be.”
“I was like that’s not racist, ’cause even black people wanna know.”
Rock then shared, “I know her dilemma: Black girl trying to be accepted by her white in-laws. Oh, it’s hard. It’s so hard, it’s very hard– but it ain’t as hard as a white girl trying to be accepted by her Black in-laws. Now that sh*t is really hard.”
“Meghan Markle, I know the dilemma. I’m like, ‘If you black and you wanted to be accepted by your white in-laws then you need to marry a Kardashian because they accept everybody,’” he quipped.
Markle was also recently called out by South Park, which made fun of her and Prince Harry for claiming they wanted to be left alone, but continued to push themselves into the spotlight.
Rock also finally opened up about the infamous Oscars slap. He addressed the slap as well as Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s unusual relationship, getting the last laugh.
While clips of the special are all over social media the full special can be seen on Netflix.
