U.S. House Rep. George Santos (R-NY) has been scolded by Democrats and Republicans alike. Santos has a controversial past and many such as U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) have done all but tell him to get out of town.
Despite his imperfections and many attempts by his enemies to unseat him, Santos has stood strong for himself and apparently former President Donald Trump as well. As a New Yorker, this opinion holds more weight as Trump is being tried in Manhattan by Democrat D.A. Alvin Bragg.
As it remains to be seen how all that will pan out, most of the Republican Party has come together to support Trump. Santos is one of those, tweeting out recently:
“I stood by Trump from the moment he came down the escalator, I voted for him in the primary and twice for president in the general elections. Today I showed up, because that’s what real supporters do, they show up for your best and your worse days. #Trump2024NowMorethanEver”
Many speculate that Trump might win in 2024 against Biden if Dems don’t “get” him now. Others think Democrats want to martyr Trump so that he wins the GOP nomination as they think he’s the easy Republican to beat.
Nevertheless, Trump’s popularity is soaring as he is being made to look like the victim of potential political persecution, the likes of which the nation has never before seen.
