Darrell Brooks has been found guilty on all 76 charges against him. The jury’s verdict was read this morning.
Brooks was found guilty of six counts of first-degree intentional homicide and 61 counts of reckless endangerment.
The jury deliberated Tuesday night and announced Wednesday morning they had reached their verdict. the six counts of first-degree intentional homicide carry mandatory life in prison terms.
Last year on November 21st Brooks drove a red Ford Escape through the Waukesha Christmas parade. Running over multiple people, which ended in the death of six participants.
The four-week trial has been plagued with disruptions and delays from Brooks. Brooks decided days before the start of the trial that he would represent himself.
Brooks also tried to present himself as a “sovereign” citizen, claiming he was outside the court’s jurisdiction.
Brooks was also found guilty on six counts of hit-and-run causing death, two counts of bail jumping, and one count of misdemeanor battery.
