Tom Brady accidentally went into the wrong house yesterday after attempting to meet up with his new offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay. Deadspin writer DeArbea Walker wrote a story about it with a headline that said, “Tom Brady Walked Into Wrong Tampa House, And Because He’s White, He Didn’t Get Killed.”
The story claimed that had the offensive coordinator, Byron Leftwich, who is black, “been looking for Brady’s house and made a similar mistake, he very well could have been shot and possibly killed.”
She lists “just five of many incidents that have occurred while ‘living black.'” She then claimed that “If Tom Brady had been a black NFL player or coach, it wouldn’t be all jokes and smiles.”
The piece ended by saying, “It’s been a rough start in Tampa for Brady, but it could have been a lot worse. Had he been black, he could have been killed.”
Walker shared the story on her Twitter and included two examples of quarterbacks that she believes could have had a different ending to the original story, because they are black.
The Tom Brady story was all jokes earlier for some but let’s be honest if he had been Lamar Jackson or Deshaun Watson, idk it would have had a funny ending.
