Dems Who Want You to Eat Less Meat Attend Steak Fry With 10,500 Steaks

According to CBS News, 18 Democratic candidates were slated to attend the Democratic Polk County Steak Fry in Des Moines, Iowa yesterday. Event organizers grilled up 10,500 steaks in addition to 1,000 vegan burgers. 11,000 people showed up to see 17 candidates after de Blasio dropped out of the race, ‘shockingly’ according to a viral Trump tweet. Each of the 17 candidates who attended got around 10 minutes on stage to speak to the 11,000 attendees and tell them why they think they would be the right person to defeat President Donald Trump in 2020.

After recently going on record as saying we need to eat less meat via changing governmental dietary guidelines, although admitting that she herself ‘loves cheeseburgers from time to time’, Kamala Harris was spotted in front of a meat loaded grill with gloves at the festival as shown in a photo posted by The Washington Free Beacon here. See Kamala’s recent thoughts on the topic of government and diet below in a video tweet from ‘Trump War Room’.

Harris, who is hoping for a strategy to move herself up in the polls after a recent cringe-worthy moment where she failed to correct a New Hampshire camp event attendee for misusing the ‘mentally retarded’ phrase, stated yesterday in Iowa that ‘we need a new commander in chief’. She also made a joke about planning on moving, which could have come off as confusing to some, in addition to echoing calls from other prominent Dems that President Trump needs to be impeached. “I don’t know if you guys heard, but I’m planning on moving” she joked.

The only vegan candidate in the race, the U.S. Senator from New Jersey Cory Booker also made an appearance, although he has lately been hinting that he might drop out of the race if he can’t raise ‘1.7 million dollars‘ in a very short period of time, seen by some as a possible stunt. At another recent Iowa event, Cory Booker can be seen stuffing his face with a fried PB&J on a stick in his zeal for avoiding anything with meat at the state fair.

Booker claims he does not have a radical vegan agenda although in February he was quoted in The Washington Times saying ‘we will destroy our planet without a better way forward’ on the topic of meat-eating.

“You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet. We’ve seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry. The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact,” said Mr. Booker who is a vegan himself.

“It’s just not possible, as China, as Africa move toward consuming meat the same way America does because we just don’t have enough land,” he added, claiming that meat production is also causing deforestation and contributing to climate change.

“The devastating impact is just not practical. The numbers just don’t add up. We will destroy our planet unless we start figuring out a better way forward when it comes to our climate change and our environment,” he added.

Anti ‘assault rifle’ Beto O’Rourke was heard saying, “fight like hell to achieve it, and we don’t let anyone, whether it’s the NRA, or the corporations, or the political action committees, or even our fellow Democrats tell us what is possible and what is not possible. We the people decide what is possible in this country.” The mention of ‘fellow Democrats’ could very well be a subtle hint at certain more moderate Democrats such as U.S. Senator Chris Coons who recently lambasted Beto for going too far on his calls to confiscate certain types of guns. Coons went on record saying that some of Beto’s rhetoric is ‘not helping’.

Elizabeth Warren talked about voter rights, gerrymandering, and democracy. Joe Biden said he will call a meeting of all the major nations in the world to come to Washington within his first 100 days, and that he would also rejoin the ‘Paris Climate Accord.’

10 of the presidential hopefuls were also in Iowa Friday night to attend a gay rights forum. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris hinted that they didn’t have to evolve on things like gay marriage as other Democrats have. Pete Buttigieg mentioned serving under ‘don’t ask don’t tell’. Elizabeth Warren said ‘Donald Trump’s strategy is – turn people against people’. Biden did catch some heat for praising President Trump’s VP pick Mike Pence as a ‘decent guy’. Kamala, who’s struggled to keep 4th place away from Pete Buttigieg in the democratic 2020 presidential primary polls, claims she plans to finish third in Iowa.
