At the beginning of April, we reported that Katie Hill, the former U.S. House Rep (D-CA) who was forced to resign over sex and nude photo scandals lost a Hail Mary lawsuit against the Daily Mail over usage of nude photos.
In an interview at the beginning of last month with Spectrum News 1’s “Inside the Issues with Alex Cohen,” Hill shared her deep disappointment with that decision.
Hill told them, “It feels terrible. It feels like there was a lot that was moralistic in it right which never feels good.”
“I’m going to run out of money. I am. I’ve racked up a ton of debt on it, unfortunately,” Hill explained at the time.
It appears that things are now getting worse for her in that department as it was reported today that a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ordered Hill to pay The Daily Mail $104,747.75 in attorney fees.
In a tweet, Hill stated, “A judge just ordered me to PAY the Daily Mail more than $100k for the privilege of them publishing nude photos of me obtained from an abuser.”
“The justice system is broken for victims,” Hill added, while also including a link to a donation page for her legal fees and the hashtag #BoycottDailyMail.
Anti-Trump Twitter verified artist Tony Posnanski was one of several who responded to Hill with sympathy as he said in a vulgar reply, “That’s f*cking disgusting and insane.”
That’s fucking disgusting and insane.

Hill argued in court that awarding the fees would condone the publication of her nude photos and the court should consider she has her own legal fees, while suggesting that the defendants should not be awarded more than 12.5 hours of fees for their work on the instant motion she filed.
Judge Yolanda Orozco disagreed with that assessment, given Hill had argued she was a victim of revenge porn and cited a media company in her lawsuit.
