Texas High School Valedictorian Switched Out Speech to Promote Abortion

Lake Highlands High School, Texas had a valedictorian speech go political as she switched out her approved speech and then decided to go on a rant about abortion rights.

As seen above, the female decided to go off script and decide to promote a woman’s right to an abortion as attempts have been made to restrict abortion in certain states. With a conservative Supreme Court, some pro-choice activists see that as a threat.

She said, “I am terrified that if I am raped then my hopes and aspirations and dreams and efforts for my future will no longer matter. I hope you can feel how gut-wrenching that is.”

She went on, “I hope you can feel hope dehumanizing it is to have the autonomy over your whole body taken away from you.” She also said that there is a war on her rights and body.

Many conservatives would argue there is no inherent right to an abortion written in the constitution and that there is no right to murder a baby in the womb. She did receive applause and it seemed no one cared to stop her liberal viewpoint from being voiced.

Some could ask what would have happened if it was the other way around. What would happen if someone went on and advocated for gun rights in their speech?
