In a Truth Social post today, former President and 2024 Presidential candidate Donald Trump fired back after “loser” Paul Ryan said he would skip the RNC if Trump is the 2024 presidential nominee.
Trump declared, “Paul Ryan is a loser, Mitt Romney could have won without him. I won twice, did much better the second time, and was 233 Wins out of 253 Races in the Midterms.”
“Paul Ryan is destroying Fox, and couldn’t get elected dogcatcher in the Republican Party!” Trump added, noting Ryan’s involvement with Fox News.
Trump also shared an article from RedState that called the response to Ryan’s statement “hilarious” and reported that it seems to be having the opposite effect.
The Republican convention has been scheduled to be held in Wisconsin and Ryan was asked by a reporter during a recent interview, “For the Republican convention in Milwaukee, where will you be?”
Ryan responded, “It depends on who the nominee is. I’ll be here if it’s somebody not named Trump.”
The reporter then inquired, “You won’t show up if it’s Trump?” to which Ryan reiterated, “No I’m not interested in participating in that, no.”
“Even in Wisconsin?” the reporter wondered, to which Ryan, who resides in the state and once represented it in the House insisted, “Even in Wisconsin.”
In October 2022, Ryan predicted that Trump wouldn’t be the nominee, despite his lead in primary polls.
“Whether he runs or not, I don’t really know if it matters. He’s not going to be the nominee, I don’t think,” Ryan said at the time.
