Elon Musk Goes Nuclear on NBC, Sarcastically Calls Them ‘Lovely People’ After Listing Their Past Failures

Elon Musk went nuclear today on NBC after a clip of Mehdi Hasan was shared in a tweet by Tom Elliott where Hasan referred to him as a “not-so-bright” and “petulant” billionaire.

Tom Elliott transcribed part of the rant where Hasan said, “If [the “neo-Nazi faction” of the GOP expands in Nov.], we may look back on this .. as a pivotal moment, when a petulant & not-so-bright billionaire casually bought one of the most influential messaging machines & just handed it to the far-right.”

“NBC basically saying Republicans are Nazis …,” Musk first replied in to Elliott’s tweet.

Musk then pointed out that NBC is the “Same org that covered up Hunter Biden laptop story, had Harvey Weinstein story early & killed it & built Matt Lauer his rape office. Lovely people.”

One twitter user replied by pointing out that “It says it all that we heard more about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock than we heard about Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial.”

“It is also ‘interesting’ that the account tracking the Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial got banned when it gained traction. Lovely people indeed…” that Twitter user added along with a screenshot of a story about that account being banned from the social media platform.

Musk replied back, “Where is their ‘client’ list? Shouldn’t at least one of them go down!?”

“Hey, why are they already writing my suicide story!?” Musk also jested.

Hasan also claimed in the clip that there the difference between the far-left and the far-right is that the far-left wants to “give us free health care and free childcare” and the far-right wants to “give us white supremacy and no democracy.”

“We are living through an unspeakably dangerous moment, the pro-Qanon, pro-Neo-Nazi faction of the Republican party is poised to expand dramatically come the midterms,” Hasan insisted.

Hasan then admitted that “We are just two years away from Donald Trump very possibly re-seizing executive power.”

Hasan responded to Musk in a quote tweet where he said, “Dear @elonmusk, free speech doesn’t mean you can just put words in my mouth. I’m not ‘basically saying’ Republicans are Nazis, watch the clip: I’m calling out groups of House Republicans who attend conferences with neo-Nazis and echo their Nazi rhetoric. Should I not? Don’t you?”

“Dear @elonmusk, instead of replying to right-wing, bad-faith Twitter accounts that selectively clip the words of liberals and leftists, and in this case prompt you to then distort my words, why not come on my show and do a robust interview with me on your views on free speech?” Hasan asked in a reply to his quote tweet.

In a quote tweet of that quote tweet, Hasan pressed, “So what say you @elonmusk? Rather than take softballs on the TED stage, why not come on my show and have a robust discussion with me about the nature and scope of free speech in America? Is there anything more pro-free speech than a good-faith, informed public debate?”
