The USA Today “network” and other newspapers are canceling Dilbert, the Scott Adams comic strip. Many in the media and across pop culture also believe Adams should now be “canceled” as part of cancel culture’s eternal lust for ruining the lives of people who say things they’re “not allowed” to say, usually about race, war, Covid-19, the environment, or other hot topics closely monitored by the PC police.
The reader, that being you, can decide what you ultimately think about Scott Adams, and if Dilbert should be canceled, whether you agree with his words and the characterization of them or not.
Adams recently saw a poll where a large percentage of Black Americans did not agree with the statement “it’s ok to be White”. Adams said that he wants to live in a White neighborhood for this reason, sparking a major backlash. Musk responded to the tweet below, saying:
“The media is racist“. He elaborated:
“For a *very* long time, US media was racist against non-white people, now they’re racist against whites & Asians. Same thing happened with elite colleges & high schools in America. Maybe they can try not being racist.”
Adams was horrified that a poll of black people showed only half believe “it’s OK to be white.”

He called this hate and recommended white people live far away from blacks.
MSM verdict: Adams is a racist, but not the 20 million black people who think it’s not OK to be white. https://t.co/LC8zIGvoqx

Some may opine that Adams might be banned on Twitter for his words before Musk owned it. We may never know for sure, but Twitter definitely did have a policy of banning certain people for things they may have done or said off the platform entirely, if there was enough media controversy. Musk isn’t necessarily defending Adam’s choice of words, or perhaps he is.
Regardless, he’s making a broader point that is apparently supposed to transcend taking a stance with or against the woke mob: that whatever happens, the media will exaggerate or unfairly characterize things in unfair ways, either for money, to push and agenda, or both, during a time that American humanity is struggling with many cultural issues and vulnerabilities.
