Enes Freedom Responds to LeBron James, ‘You are Free to Leave Buddy or You Can Even Volunteer for an Exchange for Her’

Third overall pick of the 2011 NBA draft, Enes Freedom had some words for “King” LeBron James over his comments in the latest trailer from the HBO show “The Shop”.

LeBron James is heard in the trailer, which can be seen at the end of this article, questioning if Brittany Griner would even want to come back to the United States since she was by the Russian government and is still in their custody.

LeBron made a sad attempt to clarify himself on Twitter:

“My comments on “The Shop” regarding Brittney Griner wasn’t knocking our beautiful country. I was simply saying how she’s probably feeling emotionally along with so many other emotions, thoughts, etc inside that cage she’s been in for over 100+ days! Long story short #BringHerHome”

In response to LeBron’s disparaging comments about the United States, Freedom tweeted on Tuesday:

“You call it a step back, we call this a walk back. You are free to leave buddy or you can even volunteer for an exchange for her. Some people literally have NO idea what is it like to live in a dictatorship. Keep taking your freedom for granted.”

Freedom then tweeted today:

“Sad to see so many people bashing U.S when they have no idea what’s happening on the other side of the world. I’m not saying U.S is perfect but if you ever visit, China Turkey Iran Russia NK Venezuala Cuba Qatar Myanmar Rwanda . . . Then you will appreciate what you have here.”

Freedom has been outspoken on global issues, including going after Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for putting out a warrant for the arrest of Turkish scholar Fethullah Gulen as well as China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims.

Freedom sees the hypocrisy in LeBron’s commentary as he is allowed to say what he wants without fear of being censored by the U.S. Government.
