Eric Swalwell Throws Tantrum Over Being Removed from Intel Committee, Claims Byron Donalds ‘Admits’ Vengeance was the Motive

U.S. House Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) are being removed from their committee assignments. This news is not sitting well with Swalwell.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) shared in November his plan to remove them. McCarthy said specifically of Swalwell, “One thing I said from the very beginning, Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance and the secrets to America? So, I will not allow him to be on Intel.”

Swalwell, however, feels he is being removed from his committee assignment “purely out of vengeance.” He credits U.S. House Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) as “confirming” this on Tuesday nights episode of radical leftist Joy Reid’s show “The ReidOut”.

Tuesday night, Swalwell claimed that Donalds admitted when he sat down with Joy Reid, that this was the case.

Donalds sat down with Joy Reid and talked about last week’s Speaker of the House votes and his nomination at one point during the votes. Reid opened by asking Donalds about the Democrats who are being removed from committees. The full segment can be seen at the end of the article.

Donalds explained that the precedent was set by Democrats in the last Congress when they removed Republicans from committees for a variety of reasons. Republicans plan to remove certain Democrats they don’t feel are fit to serve on committees.

Donalds then went on to explain in depth why Omar is being removed. He then remarked that McCarthy can elaborate on why the other two are being removed.

McCarthy has explained that Swalwell wouldn’t qualify for security clearance in the private sector and so should not be privy to “America’s Secrets”, and thus he is being removed from the House Intelligence committee.

Donalds responded to Swalwell’s tantrum, “I don’t talk for @SpeakerMcCarthy. It was wrong to kick Republicans off committees. Don’t cry now!!”

Swalwell is a loud voice from the Democrat party, known for “picking fights” on Twitter and not shy about bashing his GOP colleagues. Now he faces the same scrutiny he placed Republicans under in the last congress and doesn’t think it is fair.
