In a tweet that has gone viral and been widely criticized by many on the right, U.S. House Rep Eric Swalwell (D-CA) expressed that he was upset that the unvaccinated are “allowed to fly.”
Swalwell said in the tweet, “On a flight now to Bay Area and it is one-hundred percent batty that the unvaccinated are allowed to fly.”
“It’s unsafe in the cabin and we are transporting the virus. Requiring the vaccine to fly is the LEAST we can do to stop the spread,” Swalwell added.
U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) suggested to Swalwell in a quote tweet, “Ask Fang Fang to explain air filtration systems to you.”

News outlet SFGate covered Swalwell’s tweet and noted that it’s not Swalwell’s first time discussing his desire to issue a vaccine mandate for flyers, or expressing frustration on Twitter about unvaccinated people generally.
In a September Politico article where he discussed the push to get the current administration to mandate vaccines for air travel, Swalwell was quoted as saying that the failed recall on California Dem Gov. Gavin Newsom was proof that Joe Biden could “go harder on mandates.”
Swalwell added at the time, “We have to own the outrage. We can’t do enough to climb out of this pandemic hell.”
Earlier, we reported that Biden has tested negative after recently coming in “close contact” with an aide who tested positive, but plans to continue going about his regular schedule.
