Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk Thinks That ‘We Need to Increase Oil & Gas Output Immediately’ Even if it Hurts His Bottom Line

Many have called for the United States to make oil independence a priority again as the Biden administration hasn’t been doing so.

Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk now thinks that “we need to increase oil & gas output immediately” even if it hurts his bottom line.

In a tweet tonight, Musk declared, “Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately. Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures.”

“Obviously, this would negatively affect Tesla, but sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react instantaneously to make up for Russian oil & gas exports,” Musk added.

Labor Secretary Marty Walsh said today on Fox Business that there would have to be a “conversation” about drilling more in the country, “given the situation in the world.”

Walsh said that he was not in a “position” to say whether he believed that we should be drilling more at this point.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said yesterday that the United States should ban Russian oil imports to punish Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine.

If Biden does that, then it could potentially create a gas shortage and a further spike in prices unless other options were made available.

Thus far, it doesn’t appear that is on the table for Biden as White House press secretary Jen Psaki also said yesterday that “we don’t have a strategic interest in reducing the global supply of energy.”
