Update: Facebook.com appears to be back up and running for now… as of 6:20 ET.
If you think you may be banned from Facebook, well you may be in luck, and not banned after all. It appears that Facebook and Instagram are down in the United States as well as the UK. #Facebookdown is trending on Twitter as social media users are scrambling to make sure it isn’t just them.
Manchester News reported that Instagram and Facebook were down, they are located in the UK and report that it went down at 10:30PM local time.

Instagram and Facebook is down this evening.
Users are reporting being unable to refresh their feeds tonight. It is thought the outage happened at about 10.30pm.
An error message appears on the screen, saying: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.”
On Instagram, a message appears saying: “Couldn’t refresh feed.”
We’ll have any further updates here as they come in.
Based on our site traffic it appears some users are accessing Facebook and we will update as soon as it appears that we are able to get back on as well.
Update: 5:55 ET in the U.S., “downforeveryoneorjustme.com” shows Facebook.com is still down.
Update 5:56 ET in the U.S., The outage appears to have affected WhatsApp and Messenger and Facebook’s internal website as reported by Jane Wong.
