Former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon was found guilty of two contempt of Congress charges by a federal jury today.
The charges were issued after he refused to cooperate with the Jan. 6 Select Committee and the trial had taken place throughout the week.
Bannon was indicted in November on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress, a month after the Justice Department received the House panel’s referral.
Each count carries a minimum of 30 days of jail and as long as a year behind bars upon conviction, NBC 4 noted.
MSNBC’s Kyle Griffin reported that Bannon’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21.

Yesterday, Bannon told reporters outside of the courtroom, “I stand with Trump and the Constitution.”
Bannon had pleaded not guilty and said that he didn’t have to answer questions from the committee because he was protected by executive privilege.
