Elon Musk has reportedly received some backup against sexual misconduct claims in the form of female SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell.
Shotwell defended Musk in an email to employees that was sent on Friday as she responded to the sexual misconduct allegations against the SpaceX CEO.
“Personally, I believe the allegations to be false; not because I work for Elon, but because I have worked closely with him for 20 years and never seen nor heard anything resembling these allegations,” Shotwell insisted in the email.
Shotwell noted that for “privacy reasons,” she “will never comment on any legal matters involving employment issues” and that Musk publicly denied the allegations as “utterly untrue” in a tweet.
Detractors like New York Times reporter Ryan Mac pointed out that it is “worth noting” that “she says nothing about the settlement, which Business Insider reportedly saw documents from.”
“Also there have been previous complaints about SpaceX HR and its failure in investigating allegations of sexual misconduct at the company,” Mac explained while sharing a 2021 report regarding the company.
Mac also requested, “Anyways, if you’ve worked at SpaceX or would like to chat, my DMs are open and I have signal.”

Musk responded to the report in a reply tweet to Twitter user Sawyer Merritt as he said, “Astute observers of my plane (and there many) will note that I don’t use a flight attendant.”
“Moreover, only fruit & nuts are stocked on the plane. I use flights as an opportunity to fast,” Musk added.
