John Brennan was a panel guest on Chris Matthews’ Hardball last night. The show kicked off addressing impeachment.
On Tuesday evening the House Democrats released new documents obtained from Lev Parnas, a former associate of Rudy Guliani’s. One of the documents released is a handwritten note on a piece of stationery from the Vienna Ritz Carlton. In a tweet from Nicholas Wu, you can see the handwritten note. The note says “get Zalensky to Announce that Biden case will be investigated”

Matthews turns to Brennan pointing to the evidence released, saying it shows that Guliani and Trump wanted to get rid of Ambassador Yovanovitch to get the dirt on Joe Biden. It’s either important, or you don’t care but you can’t deny it didn’t happen was the implication. Brennan responds to Matthews, “one of the most significant documents released last night was that Ritz Carlton stationary, upon which Donald Trump said get Zalensky to announce the Biden investigation.” See tweet with video from Media Right News below:

President Donald Trump did not write that note. The note was written by Lev Parnas. Chris Matthews didn’t correct him, Matthews interjected the location of the Ritz Carlton saying “Vienna” in the middle of what Brennan was saying, however, when Brennan said that Trump wrote the note, Matthews was quiet and did not correct the error anytime during the show.
Later in the evening, Brennan tweeted that he mistakenly said Trump wrote the note and corrected that it was written by Les Parnas(he corrects the spelling in a later Tweet to Lev), and he adds in the interview that Parnas gave to Rachel Maddow that day as well.
On MSNBC tonight, I mistakenly said Trump wrote note, released by House yesterday, saying “get Zelensky to announce Biden investigation.” It was written by Les Parnas, who told Rachel Maddow today in explosive interview everything he did was known & directed by Giuliani & Trump.

Later in the interview, Brennan and Matthews talk about a new book called “A Very Stable Genius” by Carol Leonig and Phil Rucker. The book is aimed at the president and his fundamental lack of understanding of basic geography. Brennan takes the opportunity to say something about President Trump, “well the book provides rich detail of what we have seen every day for the last three years, that Donald Trump is the most ignorant as well as incompetent individual who has ever held the office of the presidency.” See video below:
Neither Brennan or Matthews are fans of the president. They are both jumping at everything they can to paint the president in a more disparaging way. Matthews smiles during the show while talking about the documents released by the House Intelligence committee like, they’ve got him now!
