After it was reported yesterday that actor and comedian Richard Belzer had passed away at 78 years old, his former “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” co-star Ice T, who still is on the show, shared a touching tribute in a tweet.
Ice T, whose real name is Tracy Lauren Marrow, shared a picture of the two together from the show and began, “Highs and Lows…”
“After one of the most amazing weeks of my life. I wake up to the news I lost my friend today. Belz is gone.. Damn it!” Ice T declared.
Ice T then explained, “But remember this..’When you ARE having real fun and are Truly Happy. ENJOY it to the fullest! Cause Pain is inevitably coming.’”
“I’ll miss you Homie,” Ice T concluded.
Journalist Hasief Ardiasyah pointed out in response, “It’s kind of fitting that he passed just after the most recent episode of SVU had Fin mention what Munch was up to.”
“Almost like one final reminder that he would never be forgotten. And he never will,” Ardisyah insisted.

Writer Jake Donovan also referenced the most recent episode of the series in a reply where he said, “Was really hoping Munch would’ve popped in when you (Fin) mentioned him on last week’s SVU ep.”
“Hopefully a tribute episode is coming. RIP Richard Belzer,” Donovan added.
