Fox News Continues to Show True Colors, Cancels Pro-Trump Lou Dobbs Show

Fox News continues to show its true colors. First, they came for Bill O’Reilly, then Trish Regan, and now Lou Dobb’s days are numbered. Dobbs has been a tough America First pro-Trump host on Fox Business, often angering the more moderates with his views on things like immigration and other right-wing views.

Now it’s being reported that “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” is being canceled.

LA Times reported in part:

Dobbs’ program, which airs twice nightly at 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern on the Fox Business Network, will have its final airing Friday, according to a Fox News representative who confirmed the cancellation. Starting next week, the program will be called “Fox Business Tonight,” with rotating substitute hosts Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman, who filled in for Dobbs on Friday.

This reportedly comes after Smartmatic filed a 2.7 billion dollar suit against Fox News, Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, and Judge Jeanine Pirro. It’s reported that Dobbs still has a contract with Fox but is not likely to come back on TV.

Fox has been changing up their lineup a lot lately since ratings tanked after the 2020 presidential election. It’s not for sure that the Smartmatic suit is why Dobbs is on the way out. LA Times also reported:

But people familiar with discussions say the decision to end Dobbs’ program was under consideration before the legal issues with Smartmatic arose. (Fox News said it stands by its 2020 election coverage and will “defend this meritless lawsuit in court.”)

“As we said in October, Fox News Media regularly considers programming changes and plans have been in place to launch new formats as appropriate post-election, including on Fox Business,” the representative said in a statement. “This is part of those planned changes. A new 5 p.m. program will be announced in the near future.”

Dobbs has been a strong Trump supporter throughout all the chaos of the election and recent times. Fox News and Fox Business have started to shift leftward and many have gone over to NewsMax, OAN News, or other sources to get their news, in addition to reading independent sources such as Media Right News when possible.

Time will tell what the future holds for Dobbs, as I’m sure many of his fans would like to see him on NewsMax or somewhere else, but it’s tough to say if that’s in the cards just yet, as there may be legal ramifications. It is reported that Dobbs had great ratings, but many advertisers boycotted his show for his right leaning views, which Fox did not like. This is similar to the situation with Tucker Carlson, but it’s likely Tucker will hang around a bit longer.

Todd Starnes, formerly with Fox News, had this to say:

“Will the last conservative at 1211 Avenue of the Americans turn out the lights? #loudobbs

Liberals are already cheering the move:

We will bring you updates on this matter as we are able to.
