Fox News’ Melissa Francis Potentially Fired After Recent George Soros Debacle and an Alleged Pay Gap Complaint, But Fox Claims Otherwise

Fox News’ Melissa Francis has reportedly been fired according to NewsMax reporter Emerald Robinson who claims a source from the LA Times. She tweeted:

“According to sources quoted by the Los Angeles Times, FOX personality Melissa Francis has been fired.”

Recently former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich made the apparent carnal sin of speaking ill of liberal billionaire activist George Soros. Melissa Francis pushed back and made it clear that on her watch at least, it was ‘verboten’ as Gingrich put it. According to Wilson County News:

On September 16, Newt Gingrich was cut off the air on a Fox News show, “Outnumbered,” for merely mentioning the role that George Soros is playing in fomenting the anti-cop agenda of the left. Here is what he said.

“The number one problem in almost all these cities [where riots have taken place] is George Soros-elected left-wing anti-police pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up.”

“Progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal, and [are] overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’ money.”
Gingrich was interrupted by one of the show’s regulars, Melissa Francis, who said, “I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this.” The former Speaker of the House replied, “He paid for it. Why can’t we discuss the fact that millions of dollars….” Gingrich was then cut off again, this time by Marie Harf who took Francis’ side.

In addition to this, more recent reports came out that Francis made gender pay gap complaints to Fox. LA Times reported in part along with the claim that a source told them Francis was likely out.

Francis had been working at Fox News without a contract for nearly a year. She had filed a gender-based pay discrimination claim against the company that has been in arbitration, according to one person familiar with the proceedings.

The complaint said Francis was underpaid compared with her male colleagues. A Fox News representative would not comment on the matter, saying it was confidential.

Francis did not respond to a request for comment.

Yahoo News reports that Fox News won’t confirm the reports officially:

The network also sidestepped why Francis had been off air for the last two weeks. “Fox News Media regularly considers programming changes, including to its daytime lineup, and will launch new formats as appropriate after the election,” Fox News Media said in a statement. “These changes are being made independent of any other ongoing matter.”

LA Times says their source tells them she is probably at the end of her job. She has not been on TV since October 7th.

Francis has been tweeting out words of thanks to her fans for supporting her during this time of apparent uncertainty and also claiming that people should brace themselves for a Trump win. She doesn’t seem excited about the prospect:

Trump will win.

“I’m not advocating, I’m telling you to mentally prepare. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” she tweeted:

We will add updates to this story as we get it.
