Giuliani Responds After Dominion Lawsuit Against Him: ‘Will Allow Me to Investigate Their History, Finances, and Practices’

Dominion Voting Systems filed a defamation lawsuit on Monday against attorney and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, seeking $1.3 billion in damages for what they called, his “demonstrably false” allegations about the company’s voting machines.

Giuliani, who is also a host for WABC radio, issued a statement that was reported by the station.

Disagreeing with the lawsuit, Giuliani insisted, “Dominion’s defamation lawsuit for $1.3B will allow me to investigate their history, finances, and practices fully and completely. The amount being asked for is, quite obviously, intended to frighten people of faint heart.”

“It is another act of intimidation by the hate-filled left-wing to wipe out and censor the exercise of free speech, as well as the ability of lawyers to defend their clients vigorously,” Giuliani continued in the statement.

Giuliani concluded and stated that “As such, we will investigate a countersuit against them for violating these Constitutional rights.”

Dominion wrote in its 107-page lawsuit that “During a court hearing contesting the results of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania, Rudy Giuliani admitted that the Trump Campaign ‘doesn’t plead fraud’ and that ‘this is not a fraud case.'”

Additionally, they wrote, “Although he was unwilling to make false election fraud claims about Dominion and its voting machines in a court of law because he knew those allegations are false, he and his allies manufactured and disseminated the ‘Big Lie,’ which foreseeably went viral and deceived millions of people into believing that Dominion had stolen their votes and fixed the election.”

The lawsuit also claimed that “As a result of the defamatory falsehoods peddled by Giuliani—in concert with … other like-minded allies and media outlets determined to promote a false preconceived narrative about the 2020 election—Dominion’s founder and employees have been harassed and have received death threats, and Dominion has suffered unprecedented and irreparable harm.”

According to Axios, Dominion lawyer Tom Clare said on a press call this morning that the company may move forward with additional lawsuits, and when asked if former President Trump could be the subject of a future lawsuit, Clare responded, “We’re not ruling anybody out.”

One liberal Twitter user “Chris” mocked Giuliani’s response and said “Apparently Giuliani thinks he is the only attorney who knows what discovery is. I am sure Dominion was very confident in their history, finances and practices before filing a lawsuit against Rudy.”
