‘God Speed’ Paul Gosar Wishes Sarah Palin Success With Libel Case Against the New York Times That is Finally Going to Trial

It was recently reported that after a four-year wait, a libel case against the New York Times that was brought forth by Sarah Palin is finally moving forward.

U.S. District Court Judge Jed Rakoff announced that jury selection is expected to begin Monday in a federal courthouse in Manhattan.

Rakoff has blocked off an estimated two weeks for the trial, which will likely begin on Feb. 1 following the jury selection.

U.S. House Rep Paul Gosar (R-AZ) wished Palin success in the case, which is centered around a conspiracy theory hatched by the Times following the shooting by a madman of former U.S. House Rep Gabby Giffords (D-AZ).

Gosar declared, “God speed to @SarahPalinUSA and getting this far in a stacked deck legal system is a major accomplishment.”

“No one deserves a solid libel verdict against its perpetual lying and malice more than the New York Times,” Gosar insisted.

Gosar also weighed in on his opinion of what the outlet did and said, “The Tucson shooting narrative was the epitome of malice.”

In a New York Post editorial following the announcement that the case was going to trial, Kyle Smith previewed the trial and said that it will be “not only entertaining, it will address an important principle: you don’t get to make up nasty stuff about somebody you don’t like and print it anyway.”

“Reminding us that there is punishment in store for those who do this could move us a half-a-baby-step closer to restoring civility in the discourse,” Smith suggested.

Smith also noted that Palin’s lawyers are the ones who trounced Gawker so badly in the Hulk Hogan case that the site went under, so it could very well spell trouble for the Times.
