CNN released a statement welcoming former U.S. House Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) as Senior Political Commentator.
“Join us in welcoming @AdamKinzinger to CNN as a Senior Political Commentator. Welcome to CNN, Adam!”
Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld quote tweeted CNN’s announcement sharing his viewpoint as those who watch him are used to, highlighting “this is gunna be hilarious!”
“I can’t tell if CNN is a dude attracted to crazy women, or a woman attracted to destructive head cases. either way, this is gunna be hilarious!”

In an interview Kinzinger gave before he was officially out of office, he shared that he was interested in a “TV gig” and it didn’t take long for CNN to sign him on. The fit seems natural as he has been on CNN quite a bit since January 6th, bloviating to the small number of people who still watch.
Kinzinger made many enemies within the Republican Party after voting to impeach former President Donald Trump and then jumping on the January 6th commission. He decided not to run for re-election with all of this citing redistricting, but some speculate he didn’t have the support after targeting former President Donald Trump.
Kinzinger at CNN is what some would call the “perfect fit”, as he seems to fill the model for conservatives they try to bring on to the network. Kinzinger also shared in the interview he will continue with “Country First”, which has bipartisan academy training candidates. He also shared that he is interested in the speaker circuit and would be happy to be paid to give speeches, something he couldn’t take money for while in office.
He has also shared he may jump back into politics at some point as a candidate once again. It seems that while Kinzinger cries, money still talks.
