Gun Control Activist David Hogg Calls for “Mass Education Campaign” to Teach People to Spot and Avoid “Misinformation”

Gun control activist David Hogg who attended Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which was tragically targeted with a shooting in 2018 is speaking out yet again. This time the call is getting frighteningly creepy, that is if anyone in power decides to actually listen to it.

We at Media Right News try our best to bring accurate information ourselves, although we are run by humans and humans are certainly not perfect. That being said, it is not a shock that there is indeed SOME misinformation out there on the world wide web.

We certainly don’t deny that it exists and people should cross-check their research to make sure that the news they get comes accurately and from sources that lean different ways.

Big Tech has largely reigned in most of the websites that seek to purposefully deceive and the rest are usually labeled as satire. Unfortunately, sometimes people do get it wrong, but in the United States, the idea is that we do have free speech and free thought.

It is the job of the free market of ideas to get the right information out to the people and the job of the free thinkers to research and come to the proper conclusions in our view. Although we often disagree with how big tech decides to monitor and take action on its platform sometimes, David Hogg is looking to get people to take things to a whole new level.

Hogg tweeted out this morning (you can’t make this stuff up):

“We need some kind of mass education campaign to teach the American people how to spot and avoid sharing misinformation.” See tweet:

Hogg has used his affiliation with the school that was tragically targeted by a shooter to become well known on the internet and around the country and use his anti-gun and radical ideas to try and change the nation. Time will tell if any credible person or politician responds with seriousness to Hogg’s latest and greatest plan.

After David Hogg’s initial tweet it appears he though about it a little more and attempted to add some context:

“It would need to be taught by non-political experts and have bipartisan support.”

We wonder if his definition of bipartisan would be the same as the folks on the Presidential Debate Commission this year. Many of his followers on Twitter shockingly appear to agree with him, only dissenting with claims that one side (the right) has more disinformation in their view. One likely leftist proclaimed: “sign me up!”:

Another possible sycophant actually hinted that perhaps David Hogg himself should be the one to teach the class:

“Agreed. Maybe your next project? I’d sign up!”

It was actually shocking to find that there were not a lot of dissenters in what appears to be an echo chamber. This may be amplified by the fact that Twitter has currently slowed down retweets and so less people with opposing views may have seen his radical idea. One guy sarcastically responded:

“And have camps where we do it. We’ll use the term Gulags.” This was likely to highlight the ridiculous nature of Hogg’s original idea in his view, but we can only speculate as to what the Twitter user is really thinking. See tweet:
